Stallmann Construction’s History of Craftsmanship

In the early 70s, Lenny Stallmann took advantage of a job installing siding for one of the largest construction companies in Arkansas, Haynes Construction. Shortly after accepting the position Lenny decided this was a great opportunity for himself and his family, and relocated his young family from Chester, Illinois to Little Rock, Arkansas. Over the next couple of years, Lenny became a master craftsman of the siding industry and was recognized by Haynes Construction for achieving the highest workmanship standards and was awarded the "Supreme Master Craftsman Award."

As in many large construction companies Haynes required a lot of travel and working out of town, leaving little time for the family. Lenny wanted to be more involved with the things he valued the most, his wife and his two sons. As the industry grew and new products began to emerge Lenny started taking on local projects allowing him to stay home, yet continued doing the work he enjoyed. Lenny’s skill, craftsmanship, and business ethics created a reputation desirable to many homeowners. He offered good products, was dependable and honest, and took pride in getting the job done right.

By the early eighties, Stallmann Construction had grown to the point of needing to become its own entity and in 1983, Lenny incorporated Stallmann Construction. In the startup of Stallmann Construction, Lenny met with the homeowners and discussed the work to be done. Then he would install the product on the wall. As his reputation grew, the workload became more than one installation crew could handle. That led him to search for quality crews, which Lenny could trust with his work. After finding several quality crews Lenny began selling and managing the business, allowing the company to grow even further.

Stallman Construction’s reputation grew quickly and was being talked about in the commercial side of the industry. New commercial buildings such as apartment complexes, nursing homes, and office building were being constructed and had requested to be covered with vinyl siding. Lenny started working with a few of Little Rock’s larger commercial contractors, and then suddenly he was faced with all new challenges. Federally funded (HUD) and projects over $25,000 dollars required contractors to have a general contractor license, general liability insurance, and be bonded in the city where the work was performed. Organizing the commercial from the residential side of the business Lenny incorporated a sister company known as Industrial Siding, in 1995. Both companies work together using the same installers and office help. As of today, both companies together have completed over 30,000 jobs in the Arkansas area.

In 1996, Lenny’s first son, Jason returned back to Arkansas after serving four years in the United States Air Force. Jason based his move back home on many of the same reasons that led his father to Arkansas, less travel and more time spent with family. Jason started his career in the siding and window industry much the same way his father did, installing the product. After becoming a master craftsman himself, Jason began creating standards for installation protocols and procedures used today by the installers. These standards ensure every job done by Stallmann Construction’s installers meet or exceed the level of quality expected from Stallmann.

With years of siding and window installation behind Jason he felt that he had more to offer, and wanted to move into the sales and management side of the company. Jason graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a bachelor degree in Accounting, while still working full time in the company. Shortly thereafter a new sales position opened and Jason decided to move from installation into the sales side of the company. While working in sales Jason realized this was something he really enjoyed; the ability to sit down with homeowners and discuss new ideas came easy.

Currently Jason has moved into the Operations side of the business and works right beside his father. Together, Lenny and Jason continually strive to keep their company as one of Arkansas’s leaders in the Siding and Window industry. We at Stallmann Construction work hard at maintaining quality workmanship and products offered to our customers. Stallmann Construction was started by Lenny Stallmann earning the trust of many homeowners and not taking them for granted and doing what he said he would do. That same principal of doing business has never changed and never will.

"Offer people a good product at a fair price and do a good job."

Lenny Stallmann
